I am writing and illustrating a children’s book in French and then creating an English audio version to go with it. This book will not only be written in French but will also incorporate aspects of basic music theory!
My storyline will chronicle the journey of a young Do in the Kingdom of Solfege who is on a quest to find a melody. On his journey, he meets 7 different music notes from 7 different cities, all with unique personalities that correlate to their pitch and note duration. These notes eventually discover that together they are the melody: when they join on a staff, all contributing something different yet valuable to a sound, they create something magical.
Overall, by creating this book, I will be combining my love of French and singing, while also promoting a message of harmony that we find in working together and celebrating our differences.
